While the Liminal Team consists of members with wide-ranging interests, from computer programming, to film production, and even furniture-making, we are all motivated by a shared creative drive. At the start of the Covid-19 Pandemic, when theaters, studios, theme parks, and other creative hubs were forced to shut their doors, we set out to find a way to leverage both our creative and technical skills to design new ways for people to collaborate and create online, even amidst a time distinguished by isolation.
Our solution: ZoomOSC - a bridge between Zoom and traditional show and event control applications that allowed people to not just interact via Zoom, but to design those interactions in unprecedented ways. Initially, we deployed ZoomOSC within the live theatre community, working closely with academic and professional performance groups alike to transfer their shows from the stage to the screen. As these productions evolved, so did ZoomOSC, and we eventually realized that our software could support countless other industries both during and beyond the pandemic.
This inspired us to invest heavily in research and development to create additional software offerings, including ZoomOSC Pro, StreamWeaver, and ZoomISO. Even as we shifted our focus to software products, our collaborative foundations never faded. Every program we have ever created has been developed with input from our community, and all of our tools are built to integrate with existing workflows. Today, our programs are used to customize and reimagine everything from concerts to conference calls.
Looking forward, we are continuing to devote resources to inventing and refining tools that allow people to reimagine virtual interactions. We truly believe that the full potential of remote contribution is just beginning to be uncovered. Our team strives to push the bounds of this emerging space and provide the tools needed for people worldwide to reimagine broadcast, business, and entertainment.
